Swan Lapel Pin5JenniferJune 18, 2008I used these swan pins at the pinning ceremony for my nursing class. I was selected by my classmates to give a speech at our graduation so I presented each of my classmates with a swan pin that evening and in my speech explained the "swan principal" to them. It is that even though a swans feet are paddling a mile a minute under the water, they always look smooth and graceful on the surface. I thought this would be an appropriate symbol for new nurses to wear on their badges, especially since we are all starting new jobs and will be taking our state boards this summer.
