These deluxe pin guards require no installation. The pin goes inside the guard's flat head and locks securely but has an easy quick release by just pulling up on the flat head. The flat head lies against your body or clothes where some of the other guards permit the sharp point on the nail to stick through and could cause damage to you or your clothes. This is really a deluxe item and a must for all bikers.
